Hi from Auckland, New Zealand!

After a long journey we are finally in New Zealand.. the side trip to Japan was amazing!

We managed to see all the sites and cities we were planning on including: Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, Nara, Tokyo, Sendai and Kashamadai (spelling questionable). The specific locations are unknown to me, but our friend Danny will provide a list of the locations we visited in the future; its just to hard to remember all the names!

We arrived in Auckland last night after midnight local time and managed to check into the YHA Auckland International. The next few days will be spent relaxing.. I think my feet might fall off!

That's all for now, enjoy the pictures! (I know some are sideways)

Cheers,

Andrew

Amazing pictures!! The architecture and culture is completely foreign to anything North American. Although it was a very busy and tiring week in Japan, on reflection I'm sure you both will agree the experience was a wonderful exposure full of memories for a lifetime. I just won a free coffee at Tim's!! Good luck as your adventure continues down under. We all look forward to your next blog entry and phone calls, love, Dad.

My goodness , what exceptional pictures. You certainly captured the essence of Japan. The temples are beautiful day and night and the cherry blossoms are breath taking. I especially like the sunset shot with the clouds above the horizon, it looks like a procession of creatures following along one behind the other-amazing. Ross makes a great war lord or emperor. I see what you mean by the mesmerizing lights and billboards of the cities. Your shot of the Dome is as good or better than Google Earth's. Can't wait to see the rest. Enjoy the slower pace of New Zealand. Love Mom

That's pretty much everywhere. Osaka, Nara and Kyoto are all clustered in Kansai, so jetting between them is easy (until you get seperated on the train platform...). Hiroshima is the 2nd most-southern prefecture on Honshu, the main island, Tokyo is a bit too north to call central, and Sendai is pretty far north. And to think with all that we never left one island...

Kashimadai is spelt with an 'i' where you have that 'a', but that's pretty good. A letter from home once had the spelling circled it was so bad.

Have fun in New Zealand!
